What Is the Best Way to Find a Pediatric Dentist?

Making sure that you find the right pediatric dentist for your child will be crucial for both their oral health as well as their experience in the dental office. You will need to verify that the professional is highly skilled and an expert who has undergone extensive training. The pediatric dentist should also be board-certified and an active member in at least one of the various professional organizations, such as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Fortunately, at Sunny Shore Pediatric Dentistry, our pediatric dentist, Dr. Ivan, has a vast amount of knowledge and remains dedicated to being up to date with the latest advancements in the field so that he can provide the best level of dental care for your child.

How Do I Get My Child Emergency Dental Care?

If your little one is experiencing a dental emergency, then you’ll first want to call our office so that we can help manage their situation right away. With a quick phone call, our team can schedule them for the earliest appointment and even provide you with specific instructions on how to take care of their problem until you’re able to bring them in for treatment. Once you arrive, we can assess their mouth and determine the best way to treat their condition. However, if your child is struggling to breathe or their situation is life-threatening, be sure to call 911 and/or take them straight to the ER first so that they can be taken care of before our team can treat them.

Where Can I Find the Best Pediatric Dental Work?

Firstly, you’ll want to begin by determining the factors that are most important to you. This can typically be a combination of various considerations, including how far away your child’s dentist is, office hours, credentials, insurance coverage, cleanliness, and safety. It’s also important to know what kind of treatments you’re looking for on behalf of your child, such as if you’re interested in tooth extractions, sedation options, or even special needs dentistry. Some practices may be better suited for certain services than others. Lastly, it’s a good idea to get familiar with your pediatric dental team so that you know exactly who is taking care of your little one.

What Do You Do If You Can’t Afford a Pediatric Dentist?

Our team doesn’t want patients to feel like they can’t take their child to the dentist due to the cost of treatment. Dental checkups and cleanings are incredibly important for setting your little one up for oral health success in the long run. That’s why, if you have dental insurance, we are more than happy to help walk you through your policy so that you know how to maximize your benefits.
